Recognized as the first Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence in South Carolina, we provide the only all-encompassing movement disorders program in the state, featuring an interdisciplinary care model, opportunities for patient involvement in clinical trials, and educational and support initiatives.

• A collaborative and intellectually engaging team consisting of 7 faculty members, 2 advanced practice providers, research coordinators, nursing personnel, and extensive administrative support.

• Utilization of advanced diagnostics, multidisciplinary planning, and a comprehensive range of medical and innovative treatment options.

• The division is actively engaged in research and collaborates closely with our neurosciences program, the College of Health Professionals for Movement Rehabilitation, and the Center for Bioimaging.

• Our division has received multiple national recognitions, including designations as a Parkinson’s Foundation Center of Excellence, a Huntington’s Disease Society of America Center of Excellence, and a CurePSP Center of Care.

• A strong emphasis on collaboration, innovation, and teamwork.

• Specialized knowledge in Movement Disorders, including Parkinson’s Disease, Huntington’s Disease, Dystonia, and Deep Brain Stimulation.

• Board certification in Neurology and completion of a fellowship in movement disorders.

• An academic mindset, enthusiasm for teaching, and a passion for outreach and research.

• This role is primarily focused on outpatient care.

• Strong interdisciplinary specialty support is available.

• Engagement in teaching medical students, neurology residents, and fellows.

• Opportunity to be involved in the movement disorders clinical research program, with numerous collaborative possibilities across the university and mentorship from senior investigators and principal investigators.

• Protected research time may be available based on the candidate’s qualifications and background.

• Minimal on-call responsibilities, requiring only 1-2 nights per month.

• Support for special interests is fully provided.

• Faculty appointment with academic rank and a salary that reflects qualifications.
