Welder/Fabricator

Job TitleLocation: Waukesha, WI Schedule: Monday–Friday | 6:00 AM–2:30 PM Pay: $27–$32 per hour, with some flexibility for the right candidateJob Requirements and Primary ResponsibilitiesFabrication experience.MIG and Flux-Core welding experienceUnderstand how to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.Study engineering drawings and blueprints to determine materials requirements and task sequences.Plan the sequence of steps to perform duties.Understand how to use measuring devices to cut and prepare raw materials to required specifications.Lay out and examine metal stock or workpieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.Set up and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders, and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form and assemble metal components.Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints, engineering drawings and layout specifications using jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.Operate various welding, soldering, or brazing equipment to assemble equipment.Align and fit parts according to specifications, using jacks, turnbuckles, wedges, drift pins, pry bars, and hammers.Position or tighten braces, jacks, clamps, ropes or bolt straps, or bolt parts in position for welding or riveting.Move, assemble, and install equipment.Install generators, fabricate the vehicles to accommodate customer specifications for exhaust and fuel line hook ups.Perform all duties following all 5S/LEAN manufacturing requirements and according to all safety and health policies.Required SkillsAble to read and interpret documents such as layouts, blueprints, sketches, engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area and circumference.Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry and general math skills.Solve problems with a deal of variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.Must be able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.Required Experience and EducationRequires the ability to operate various equipment: to include welding equipment, forklift, hoists and various hand and power tools.Requires a broad knowledge of mechanics, metal properties, welding techniques and general metalwork procedures and practices.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle or touch objects, tools or controls.The employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.The employees is occasionally required to walk, sit, stand, reach above shoulders, climb or balance, talk or hear, taste or smell, and use foot/feet to operate machine.Must regularly lift and or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.BenefitsQuarterly bonus opportunities, 401k with company match, PTO, Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance.
