As part of a collaborative team of mechanical, civil, and electrical engineers, you will develop solutions from concept through prototype development, testing, documentation, and production.The Senior Mechanical Engineer will collaborate with teams to develop innovative, practical solutions and drive program success. Key responsibilities include product design, advanced engineering analysis, creating and delivering drawings, coordinating hardware fabrication, and authoring detailed technical procedures. The role also involves preparing presentations, field reports, cost estimates, and design reviews for diverse audiences. Additionally, the engineer will assist the Program Manager with technical, cost, and schedule requirements of current tasks and help shape strategies for future tasks based on customer needs. Ideal candidates are professional, self-motivated, innovative, and possess strong communication and problem-solving skills, working effectively with engineers, technicians, and customer staff.Required QualificationsCandidate must hold or be willing to obtain a TS/SCI clearance with CI polygraphMinimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or a related field with a bachelor's degree, or three (3) years with an advanced degree.Product development experience using rapid, iterative design and prototyping methods with frequent integration/test cyclesPractical, hands-on experience building, testing, and troubleshooting prototypes, including motors, actuators, and sensorsExperience with CAD software for mechanical design and documentation (SolidWorks & Revit preferred)Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, with the ability to prepare reports, presentations, and documentationProficient in mechanics of materials, statics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transferAbility to work in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, collaborative team environment balancing diverse project tasks and typesWorking knowledge of common hand and powered toolsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsWillingness and ability to travel for temporary assignments (less than 10% travel)Desired QualificationsCoursework in Finite Element Analysis and Mechanics of MaterialsExperience with engineering data analysis tools such as Matlab and MathcadExperience designing for and using additive manufacturingProfessional Engineer (PE) License in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineProject Management experienceThe salary associated with this position ($99,000-$206,000) is commensurate with the selected candidate's qualifications, years of relevant experience, and demonstrated level of expertise.
