Sales Associate – On-Call/Seasonal (Healthcare Sales Support)

Location: Portland, OR (Partially Remote)

Schedule: M–F, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM (flexibility for evenings/weekends as needed)

Duration: Seasonal Assignment (September–December)

Compensation: $20-24/hr

Must Haves

• 3+ years of experience in customer service, sales support, account management, or healthcare-related sales
• Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak confidently in front of groups
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Knowledge of health insurance products and benefits
• Experience with lead management or CRM systems
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the local service area

Preferred Qualifications

• Healthcare industry experience
• Active Health Insurance Producer License

Job Description

Our client is seeking a Seasonal On-Call Sales Associate to support their sales and account management teams during the annual enrollment season. This individual will attend employer events and enrollment seminars, providing education and guidance on healthcare benefits and insurance options to prospective and existing members.

The ideal candidate is comfortable engaging with diverse audiences, presenting information in both one-on-one and group settings, and delivering exceptional customer service. This role requires flexibility, independent work, and local travel to employer and community-based events throughout the service area.

The Sales Associate will collaborate closely with Account Managers and Sales Representatives to support enrollment activities, communicate customer feedback, and ensure a positive member experience. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with healthcare, insurance, sales, or customer service backgrounds who enjoy relationship building and community engagement.

Day to Day

• Represent the sales and account management team at employer-sponsored enrollment events and seminars
• Educate current and prospective members about health plan options, benefits, and pricing
• Answer health insurance and enrollment-related questions in person and over the phone
• Assist sales agents with seminar setup, event logistics, and breakdown activities
• Serve as a liaison between customers, sales representatives, and account managers
• Communicate customer needs, feedback, and competitive market insights to internal stakeholders
• Support annual open enrollment efforts across multiple locations within the service area
• Maintain a high level of professionalism while delivering exceptional customer service

Compensation:

$20/hr to $24/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
