Job Title

Registered Nurse – Emergency Room

Location

Rochester, NY

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (3x12 Hours, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department setting with mixed and shared acuity levels (1:5 ratio)
• Perform phlebotomy and IV placement as mandatory competencies required for all RNs in this department
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction or failure
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, continuous IV paralytics, and procedural sedation
• Manage central lines, CVA patients, and maintain isolation precautions as required
• Float to other units when census warrants

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered New York State RN license required at time of submission (no pending licenses accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of emergency department nursing experience
• Active BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Epic EMR experience is a hard requirement
• Demonstrated competency in phlebotomy and IV insertion
• Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-acuity, combined adult and pediatric emergency department environment
• Familiarity with procedural sedation administration and IV vasopressor management
