Diesel Mechanic / Technician - Keep Our Fleet Moving

Looking for a full-time diesel mechanic job near you ? At Averitt, our Diesel Mechanics do more than just turn wrenches, they keep our fleet safe, efficient, and on the road. Hours: Tuesday - Friday 7 pm - 7 am or Monday - Thursday 7 pm - 7 am

What You'll Do:

• Competitive pay making $35.62- $38.85/hour (based on experience), based on how long you're on the clock, not just how many hours you spend fixing an issue
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on our modern, low-mileage fleet of Volvo and Freightliner trucks (Cummins, Volvo, and Detroit engines)
• Work on tractors, trailers, Tico yard trucks and Toyota and Mitsubishi forklifts
• Use advanced diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot and repair
• Handle electrical systems, tire maintenance, brake and air conditioning system repair, and minor transmission repairs
• Enjoy a clean, organized, and well-equipped shop environment
• 4-day work weeks available at select locations
• Experienced or newly trained, all diesel techs are welcome

• Must be 18 years of age
• Valid driver's license
• Convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis

• License suspensions or revocations within the past 5 years will be reviewed on case-by-case basis
• More than 3 moving violations within the past 3 years will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
• Training and certification requirements
• Preventive maintenance inspection - requires bending & stooping
• Lubrication - requires bending & stooping
• Oil change - requires bending & stooping
• Brake system repair - lift requirement: 105 lbs
• Driveline component repair - lift requirement: 95 lbs
• Trailer body repair - lift requirement: 100 lbs
• Tire maintenance - lift requirement: 95 lbs
• Diesel engine repair - lift requirement: 80 lbs
• Regular predictable attendance
• Heavy-duty truck mechanical aptitude
• Air conditioning certification
• Heavy-duty brake certification
• Remove and replace vehicle components
