Custodian II - Floater (2:30pm-11:00pm)

Job Description $21.06 per hour! Hours for this position are 2:30pm-11:00pm Monday through Friday! Benefits start the 1st of the month after your first day! Optional benefits: Medical Dental Vision IPERS Pension Holiday pay Paid time off Life insurance Flexible spending Accounts Employee assistance program Principal Duties Under the supervision of the Building Engineer, you are responsible for the following: General cleaning, such as sweeping, cleaning of carpets and blinds, emptying waste receptacles, cleaning toilet facilities and filling dispensers. Clean light fixtures and replace bulbs. Do yard works such as mowing, trimming, general cleanup and marking athletic fields. Keep walks and entries clear of ice and snow. Help with receiving and storing supplies for the building cafeteria. Move and arrange furniture for school functions. Carry out additional requests of the building principal and engineer, as needed. Other duties may be assigned. Classification Category "A", $21.06/hour. Employment Date: ASAP Qualifications Knowledge of modern cleaning methods, the use and care of materials, tools, and equipment. Ability to perform minor building repairs. Ability to plan, organize and carry out work schedules efficiently. Responsible attitude toward job and fellow workers. Must be in excellent physical condition. Must be able to pass the Physical Capacity Profile tests. Must be willing to work in adverse weather conditions. Reports to work as scheduled on a regular and reliable basis. Effective oral and written communications. Computer literacy required. Ability to work independently. Aptitude for detail. Ability to work under pressure with frequent interruptions. Capable of representing the school District in a professional manner, including confidentiality, communications skills, and ability to present a professional personal image. Reasoning Ability Ability to solve problems effectively. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Other Skills and Abilities Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with administrators, colleagues, community members, staff and students. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Working Environment The work environment is usually quiet but employee may work in areas of a building or operate equipment where hearing protection is recommended. The employee will move, stand, squat on an assortment of surfaces including tile, wood, terrazzo and concrete. The employee will generally work inside but will also be required to work outside during hot or cold weather, rain, snow, sleet and icy conditions performing duties.
