Diesel Technician

Position Mid‑Level Diesel Technician – Boise, Idaho. Provides a stable company with weekly pay and excellent benefits. Responsibilities Performs vehicle maintenance and repair duties. Performs standard vehicle maintenance, component inspections, and repairs. Performs preventive maintenance and diagnoses standard mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computers when applicable. Identifies root causes of basic failures or conditions and performs required repairs. Replaces defective components as instructed. Performs facility maintenance duties. Interacts with customers and drivers to determine the nature of complaints once a task is assigned. Utilizes key functions of the Shop Management System and electronic documentation available. Works in accordance with all federal, provincial, and corporate compliance guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT). Performs other support duties as required to assist operations, including Service Island support. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). Vocational or technical certification, postsecondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred). Basic tools required. Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventive maintenance such as oil changes, brake, and tire work. Two (2) years or more of combined classroom training and work experience (preferred). Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A (preferred). Willingness and ability to obtain a CDL within six months of hire. Must pass a Ryder drug test, DOT physical, Ryder road test, and Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last three years.
