Accounting Manager - Hybrid Schedule AvaialbleA well-established, financially successful regional CPA firm is in search of an Accounting Manager to focus on client accounting duties, including full charge bookkeeping, payroll, trial balance, KPI reporting, etc. for a variety of interesting clients. This position provides a fair work-life balance, outstanding benefits such as significant bonuses and a 5% employer match for your 401K, the opportunity to work with clients across different industries, and a clear path for career advancement.Supervisors oversee client accounts, managing client communications and ensuring that team members carry out engagements as outlined.Supervisors also assign tasks to Senior Accountants, Staff, and Interns, reviewing their work and offering necessary guidance and training. In addition, they handle business development tasks and participate in potential client pitches.ResponsibilitiesSupervise teams working on various engagements to ensure compliance with engagement scopes, which may involve:Managing bank, vendor, and payroll records for clientsPreparing month-end packages under accruals (US GAAP or IFRS) or cash basis accountingAiding clients in budgeting, forecasting, or projection preparation/maintenanceDeveloping, preparing, or evaluating dashboards or KPI metrics for clientsEnsure all client deadlines are met and maintain clear communication between clients and engagement teamsRegularly interact with clients (e.g., daily, weekly, monthly) as required by engagement scope, or assign to senior or staffEnsure team members adhere to engagement budgets; minimize and analyze any overagesInvoice clients monthly and follow up on any outstanding accounts receivable balancesProvide team training and engage in business development activities, including travel to other firm locations or networking eventsQualifications/RequirementsAt least 7-10 years' experience in accounting, with recent experience as an account manager or equivalent in industry finance or public accountingSolid grasp of double-entry accounting principles. Demonstrated accounting task performance (processing, transactions, record-keeping)Familiarity with U.S. GAAP and basic knowledge of tax matters such as individual, corporate, sales, property, and business taxesBachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or a related field preferredStrong communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking)Willingness to travel to client or other firm offices as neededProficiency in Excel and at least one accounting software program, like QuickBooks OnlineSelf-motivated, problem-solving skills, and ability to work independently or within a teamOvertime work may be required at times throughout the yearPreferred qualificationsExperience with various accounting software programs such as Xero, Intacct, NetSuite, Bill.com, or ConcurFluency in Spanish or another second language is a plusSpecialized knowledge in a specific industry or accounting areaHold a current CPA license or equivalent certification
