Shift 12:00am – 2:00pm, Monday–Friday Responsibilities Operate trucks in a safe and compliant manner to provide trash or recycling removal services to customers by emptying trash/recycling carts into the truck and hauling to disposal site. May be required to pull or push containers from enclosures or inside buildings. Replace trash/recycling carts neatly at the curb or designated area. Clean up waste spills and overflows. Maintain and update route sheets. Maintain cleanliness of truck cab. Conduct daily pre‑trip/post‑trip inspections and complete DVIR logs. Professionally interact with internal and external customers. Clean waste from the packer blade and truck body while following proper Lock Out/Tag Out procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility This position will not manage employees. Skills & Abilities Ability to read and understand a map and/or navigation system. Ability to drive all types of trucks in residential fleet. Excellent truck driving/maneuvering skills. General knowledge of truck mechanics. Good written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external customers. Must be able to read and speak the English language well enough to communicate, understand, and respond to questions, directions, traffic signs, signals, and safety training. Experience & Knowledge Waste industry experience, a plus. Previous CDL driving preferred. Physical Requirements Frequently lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a maximum of 20 lbs. Occasionally lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a maximum of 50 lbs. Rarely lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling a maximum of 100 lbs. Continuously working outside in changing temperatures, wet/humid conditions. Continuously working in areas of dust, odors, mist, gases, and other airborne matter. Occasionally stooping/kneeling/crouching/crawling. Frequently climbing and/or balancing. Continuously sitting. Occasionally standing/walking. Additional Working Conditions & Aspects Must have at least a valid Class B CDL. Must have a valid DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain one prior to hire. Must be at least 19 years of age. No more than 3 moving violations within the last 2 years. Must not have any DUI’s or OVI’s within the last 5 years or 2 in the last 10 years. Possible exposure to high traffic conditions and/or tight driving areas. Exposure to residential and commercial waste. Ability to travel between offices as required. Ability to work flexible hours; expected to work nights and weekends as needed. Ability to work overtime, weekends, and/or holidays. Legally eligible to work in the United States. Valid driver’s license (if applicable). Must successfully complete pre‑employment testing. Must be able to read and speak the English language.
