This 13-week Physical Therapist opportunity is based in Winter Park, Florida, a highly desirable, vibrant community just minutes from downtown Orlando. The location offers a comfortable blend of residential tranquility and urban convenience, making it an appealing place to work and spend your off hours.The position is in a skilled nursing facility environment, providing comprehensive post-acute and long-term care services to adult and geriatric patients. As the Physical Therapist, you will focus on restoring function, improving mobility, and maximizing independence for residents recovering from surgery, illness, injury, or managing chronic conditions. You will work as part of a collaborative, interdisciplinary care team that values communication, professional respect, and a patient-centered approach.Typical responsibilities include performing initial and ongoing PT evaluations, developing individualized, evidence-based treatment plans, and delivering interventions such as therapeutic exercise, gait training, balance training, transfer training, and functional mobility practice. You will educate patients, families, and caregivers on safe mobility, home exercise programs, and fall prevention strategies. Documentation will be a key part of the role, requiring accurate, timely notes that support clinical decision-making and meet regulatory and payer requirements. You will participate in care conferences, contribute to discharge planning, and help ensure smooth transitions of care.The schedule is full-time, with 5 eight-hour day shifts each week, totaling approximately 40 hours. This daytime structure supports consistent patient engagement and allows for a predictable work-life rhythm. The SNF caseload will primarily consist of adult and older adult residents with diverse diagnoses, including orthopedic post-operative patients, neurologic conditions, cardiopulmonary disorders, and general debility. Patient ratios are designed to allow you to deliver thorough, quality care while maintaining efficiency in a dynamic setting.This assignment offers the chance to strengthen your skills in geriatric and post-acute rehabilitation, enhance your experience with complex medical cases, and gain valuable resume-building exposure to a structured SNF environment.
