\nJoin the HII Mission Technologies - Our Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) works on the only shipyard to execute the RCOH of aircraft carriers halfway through a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier's 50-year service. The mid-life RCOH includes refueling of nuclear reactors, overhauling most machinery, and modernizing warfare systems. RCOH ensures the Navy's aircraft carriers incorporate improved capabilities needed for success in the remaining 25 years of service. Your accomplishments will make a positive impact supporting the U.S. Navy and America's national defense! We are seeking a Brazer Pipefitter to join our growing team. The selected candidate will be supporting RCOH by preforming a number of pipefitting processes and related duties on shipboard piping systems to assist with refit and fleet modernization.\n
\n
**Candidate must be able to demonstrate Brazing ability on needed processes through qualification testing and pass with a satisfactory grade from our Quality Assurance Team within the first 90 days from start date for continued employment. **\n

Essential Job Responsibilities \n
\n
\n

\n
• Support trades team by working on active class surface ships to assist with alterations and installations for fleet modernization.
\n
• Works to meet standards on various contracts such as Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Naval Information Warfare Systems Command and Naval Surface Warfare Center.
\n
• Install and braze piping systems, operate, maintain, repair and modify equipment.
\n
• Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as shipboard systems, integrated systems and related equipment and/or field locations.
\n
• Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problems in minimum time.
\n
• Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.
\n
• Responsible for interfacing with customers, and ability to provide work direction to others. Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks.
\n
• Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.
\n
• Performs duties outside of specialty to complete installation or work assignment.
\n

Minimum Qualifications \n
\n
\n

\n
• High School education, or Trade School or equivalent, and 2-6+ years of related experience. Prefer technical/professional certifications. Must provide own hand tools as designated per trades specialty.
\n
• Candidate must be proficient with standard brazing and pipe fitting procedures. (i.e. P-1 High energy systems. Lock-ring, silver braze - Grade III, IV, V).
\n
• Candidate must be able to qualify Insert (Pull Ring) and Face Feed.
\n
• Candidate must have experience testing installed piping systems.
\n
• Candidate must be able to interpret blueprints, drawings and/or specifications to fabricated and/or install piping systems.
\n
• Candidate must be proficient with use of layout tools.
\n
• Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD secret security clearance.
\n
• Candidate must be able to obtain base access credentials within 60 days of start date, and maintain credentials throughout employment.
\n
• Candidate must be able to provide hand tools per trades designation.
\n
• Candidate must be a U.S. citizen.
\n

Preferred Requirements \n
\n
\n

• Shipboard experience preferred. (Requirement for senior level)
\n
• Ability to develop specifications for the purpose of fabrication and/or installed preferred.
\n
• Providing current or prior silver brazing qualification certificates Grade III, IV and V a plus.
\n
• Candidates who have graduated from and/or completed a vocational school or a skilled trade certificate program are preferred.
\n
• Candidate with a current or active DoD clearance preferred.
\n
• OSHA 10 Maritime Certification a plus.
\n

Physical Requirements \n
\n
\nMust be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. May ride ships at sea for extended periods. May require wearing a respirator. Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.\n
