Warehouse Inventory Specialist

MRC Global serves the oil and gas industry across the upstream, midstream and downstream sectors as well as the chemical and gas distribution market sectors worldwide.

Job Purpose

Maintain the flow of stocked and delivered inventory in the pipe yard by pulling material (includes company-wide range of pipe, valves, and fittings), pulling and assisting with loading material onto trucks, and placing new material arrivals of pipe into the yard or bins.

Responsibilities

Individual must be able to perform the essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Learn MRC Global products, procedures, and processes associated with the warehouse area and the MRC Global-specific software system.

• Unload material, tools, and equipment from vendor trucks; inspect material for minimum MRC Global quality requirements.

• Maintain site inventory by assisting in inventory audits.

• Stock and transfer material, tools, and equipment to the appropriate shelf, bin, rack, or pipe bundle by a predetermined sequence, including bin location, size, type, style, and length.

• Mark the material with the correct identifying information.

• Transfer material to and from the shops for modification purposes.

• Pull orders for delivery and stock-to-stock transfer.

• Load onto the correct truck or transfer to the packing area using a forklift, overhead crane, and heavy equipment.

• Maintain warehouse/pipe yard cleanliness in compliance with OSHA and MRC Global safety policies.

• Perform other duties and/or projects as assigned.

• Take reasonable care for the safety and health of yourself and others.

• Report workplace hazards, injuries, or illnesses immediately.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or a GED (General Education Degree).

• Must have a current, valid driver's license and an acceptable record at all times.

• Two years of warehouse experience.

• Working knowledge of material and products, e.g., pipes, valves, fittings, and electrical material.

• Ability to learn MRC Global-specific software and MRC Global scanners.

• Certified on, or have the ability to become certified, and adequately operate forklift trucks, overhead cranes, and other warehouse equipment.

• Establish working rapport with local management, corporate employees, and other branch personnel using proper phone etiquette and other effective interpersonal skills.

• Ability to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and shift work.

Additional Qualifications

• Must have the ability to provide documentation verifying legal work status.

• Ability to read and speak the English language proficiently in order to communicate with others, to understand and interpret safety instructions, and respond to inquiries.

• Ability to understand and comply with MRC Global guidelines & expectations, to include Code of Conduct and Conflict of Interest guidelines.
