This role combines deep electrical engineering expertise with strong leadership, mentoring, and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate will lead technical direction while also developing talent, coordinating across disciplines, and fostering a high‑performance team culture.The candidate will oversee architecture decisions, design execution, and cross‑functional alignment while coaching junior and mid‑level engineers. This position plays a key role in building team cohesion, ensuring engineering rigor, and driving delivery of reliable, high‑performance actuator control electronics.Key Responsibilities • Team Leadership & Development: Provide day‑to‑day technical leadership, mentor engineers, conduct design coaching, and build an engaged, high‑performing team environment.• Technical Direction: Guide system architecture development, design strategies, and technical decision‑making for actuator control electronics.• Conceptual Design: Define architecture, select components, and develop schematics for analog/digital and power electronics systems.• Hardware Development: Lead PCB design direction (high‑current routing, EMI/EMC mitigation, thermal considerations) and oversee execution by the design team.• Modeling & Simulation: Supervise modeling and simulation approaches and validate designs using SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, and similar tools.• Testing & Validation: Lead validation strategy, develop test plans, and ensure testing rigor across performance and reliability metrics.• Cross‑Functional Leadership: Partner closely with mechanical, software, systems, quality, and program teams to align requirements, resolve issues, and drive collaborative solutions.• Design Reviews & Governance: Lead design reviews, ensure engineering discipline, and guide teams through documentation and certification processes.• Program & Stakeholder Communication: Communicate status, risks, and decisions to leadership, partners, and program teams with clarity and influence.• Documentation: Oversee and contribute to high‑quality engineering documentation including requirements, BOMs, wiring diagrams, analyses, and release packages.Please Note: US person status is required as most assigned programs and projects are ITAR restricted.Basic Qualifications• Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical design• Demonstrated leadership experience: mentoring engineers, coordinating team activities, or leading technical projects• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate teams, navigate ambiguity, and guide collaborative problem solving• Solid knowledge of analog and digital design principles, PCB design, and power electronics• Proficiency with modern design tools (Cadence, KiCAD, MATLAB, PSIM, PLECS)• Bachelor’s degreeDesired Skills• Experience leading multi‑disciplinary engineering teams or cross‑functional technical efforts• Strong communication skills with the ability to influence decisions and drive alignment• Demonstrated ability to coach junior engineers and support team capability growth• 7 years of electrical design experience preferred• Master’s degreePay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $118000.00 - $219100.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
