Processing Technician
A well-established and growing plastics manufacturer in the Chicago area is seeking a skilled Processing Technician to support high-volume injection molding operations. This is a hands-on role focused on optimizing machine performance, improving part quality, and keeping production running efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, start up, and optimize injection molding machines and auxiliary equipment
- Adjust and dial in processing parameters including temperature, pressure, and cycle times
- Troubleshoot molding defects such as short shots, flash, warping, and sink
- Perform mold changes and support tool startups
- Monitor production runs and make real-time adjustments to maintain quality standards
- Work closely with maintenance and tooling teams to resolve mechanical or process issues
- Document process changes and support continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in injection molding processing
- Strong understanding of scientific molding principles
- Experience with mold setups, hot runners, and auxiliary equipment (dryers, grinders, chillers)
- Ability to troubleshoot both process and basic mechanical issues
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment
