Student Support Guide - Summary

The STEAD School is seeking a Student Support Guide who is both an educator and adolescent advocate. This role combines teaching expertise with a commitment to supporting students' academic, social, and emotional development.

The Student Support Guide will:

• Provide individual and small-group academic instruction, remediation, enrichment, and mentoring.
• Teach in their area of specialty while contributing talents and interests across the broader school community.
• Support students as a generalist educator , helping them develop academic, organizational, social, and emotional skills.
• Design engaging, student-centered lessons using approaches such as project-based, collaborative, and student-led learning.
• Monitor student progress, provide feedback, maintain records, and communicate with families and colleagues.
• Implement IEP and 504 accommodations and support individualized student learning plans.
• Supervise students in classrooms, on campus, and during field trips and special events.
• Participate in Accelerator Week, Exhibition Nights, Student-Led Conferences, recruitment events, professional development, and school activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, families, and school leadership to address academic and behavioral needs.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive, collaborative, and safe school culture.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree and appropriate state licensure/accreditation are required . A master's degree, prior teaching experience, and specialized experience working with secondary students are preferred.

The ideal candidate is positive, collaborative, organized, adaptable, and passionate about adolescents , with strong communication, classroom management, problem-solving, and instructional skills. Experience with project-based and student-led learning is especially valuable.
