Northern New Jersey | Part-Time | Field-Based / Hybrid
$30–$40 per hour, based on experience and portfolio

American Medical and Trade Institute (AMTI) is seeking a creative, outgoing, and experienced Social Media Content Creator & Videographer to help tell the stories of our students, instructors, school partnerships, and career-training programs.

AMTI partners with high schools throughout Northern New Jersey to provide career-focused healthcare certificate programs, industry-certification preparation, and emergency communications training for high school students .

Our programs expose students to career pathways including Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, EKG, Dental Assisting, Emergency Communications/9-1-1, Emergency Medical Dispatch, and related healthcare training.

We are not looking for someone who simply schedules social media posts.

We are looking for a storyteller, interviewer, and content creator who can walk into one of our partner schools, connect naturally with students and educators, recognize a great story, capture it professionally, and turn it into engaging digital content.

What You'll Do

• Visit AMTI programs at high schools and partner locations throughout Northern New Jersey.
• Interview students about their AMTI experience, certifications, accomplishments, career goals, and plans after graduation.
• Identify and develop student and graduate success stories.
• Interview principals, school administrators, educators, work-based learning coordinators, instructors, and other school partners about their experience with AMTI programs.
• When appropriate, speak with and interview parents or guardians about their student's experience and accomplishments.
• Capture hands-on classroom activities, student achievements, certification milestones, graduations, special events, and other meaningful moments.
• Create engaging short-form video for TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts, and Facebook .
• Help develop and grow AMTI's YouTube channel , including longer-form videos featuring programs, student experiences, career pathways, interviews, and success stories.
• Create professional LinkedIn content highlighting school partnerships, educational outcomes, instructors, programs, and organizational growth.
• Film and edit professional-quality video using mobile and/or professional video equipment.
• Write captions, headlines, interview questions, and supporting social media copy.
• Develop content that appeals to high school students while also communicating the value of AMTI programs to parents, educators, principals, and school administrators.
• Turn individual school visits and interviews into multiple pieces of usable digital content.
• Maintain a consistent and professional AMTI brand across platforms.
• Track views, engagement, audience growth, and other performance metrics to help determine what content is producing the strongest results.
• Stay current with social media trends, platform changes, and emerging video formats.
• Work directly with AMTI leadership and instructors to identify upcoming events, programs, accomplishments, and stories worth featuring.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate is comfortable behind the camera, conducting interviews, and interacting professionally with students and school administrators .

Candidates should have demonstrated experience creating engaging social media video content and strong working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube, YouTube Shorts, and video editing.

We are particularly interested in someone who:

• Has strong interviewing and interpersonal skills.
• Can make students and adults feel comfortable on camera.
• Can conduct natural, conversational interviews rather than relying entirely on scripted questions.
• Has strong storytelling instincts and knows how to recognize a compelling moment or success story.
• Understands video composition, lighting, audio, editing, and presentation.
• Can create polished content efficiently.
• Understands how content should differ when speaking to students, parents, educators, and school administrators.
• Is professional, dependable, organized, and capable of working independently.
• Uses good judgment when working around high school students and within school environments.
• Has reliable transportation and can travel to partner-school locations throughout Northern New Jersey.
• Has flexibility to work during both daytime and after-school program hours when assignments require it.

Experience in healthcare, education, career and technical education, workforce development, school-based programs, or youth-oriented marketing is a plus, but is not required.

Portfolio Required

Applicants must provide examples of previous work .

We are particularly interested in reviewing TikTok videos, Instagram Reels, YouTube or YouTube Shorts, interviews, testimonial videos, event coverage, on-location video, success stories, and social media accounts or brands that you have helped develop.

Applicants who do not provide work samples may not be considered.

A college degree is not required if your portfolio demonstrates strong creative ability, professionalism, communication skills, and the ability to produce effective digital content.

Schedule

This is a part-time position expected to average approximately 10–15 hours per week , although hours may vary depending on school schedules, interviews, events, and content needs.

This is not a fully remote position .

A significant part of the role involves visiting AMTI programs and partner schools in Northern New Jersey. AMTI programs operate at different times depending on the school and program. Some programs may run during the afternoon, such as approximately 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM , while other after-school programs may operate approximately 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM .

Candidates must therefore have flexibility to attend scheduled school visits, interviews, classroom activities, and special events during both afternoon and evening hours as needed.

Editing, content planning, social media management, and other administrative portions of the position may be completed remotely.

Compensation

$30–$40 per hour , based on experience, portfolio, interviewing ability, and demonstrated content-creation skills.

There are currently no commission or bonus programs associated with this position.

This is a part-time position and does not include employer-sponsored health insurance or retirement benefits. Employees will receive leave and other benefits required under applicable law and AMTI policy.

Working With High School Students

Because this position involves working within high schools and interacting with students, professionalism, discretion, and respect for student privacy are essential.

All photography, video recording, student interviews, testimonials, and related content must comply with AMTI policies, partner-school requirements, and applicable media permissions and authorizations .

The successful candidate may be required to complete applicable background screening and/or fingerprinting requirements associated with working in New Jersey school environments.
