Job Description

ASSIGNMENT STARTS SEPTEMBER 28th

Temporary ON-SITE opportunity to assist at a local government Voter Services Office with the processing of mail-in ballots for the 2026 Fall Election. This assignment starts September 28th and is expected to run through November 4th, 2026.

A day in the life of a Ballot Processing Clerk:

Review and sort incoming mail-in ballots according to established procedures
Assist with organizing and preparing ballots for processing
Carefully handle election materials while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail
Follow detailed instructions, checklists, and established procedures throughout the ballot processing process
Perform repetitive sorting and processing tasks in a fast-paced environment
Work both independently and as part of a team to meet daily processing needs
Perform duties that require extended periods of sitting and/or standing
May be required to lift, move, or organize boxes and other materials as needed
Maintain the confidentiality and security of sensitive election materials and information
Assist with other election-related administrative or processing tasks as assigned

Requirements of a Ballot Processing Clerk:

Previous office, administrative, warehouse, mailroom, or sorting experience is a plus
Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately follow established procedures
Comfortable performing repetitive tasks for extended periods
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
Dependable and consistent in attendance and performance
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Must be able to handle sensitive and confidential election materials with professionalism
Comfortable working in a structured, deadline-driven environment
