Attorney - Trust and Estate

A growing, client-focused law firm in Camarillo is seeking an experienced Trust and Estate Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have meaningful experience in estate planning, trust administration, probate, and related matters and be knowledgeable, personable, detail-oriented, and comfortable taking ownership of client matters from initial consultation through completion. Experience in business formation, trust administration, probate, and limited contested or conflict matters is also valued. Key Responsibilities Advise clients regarding estate planning strategies based on their individual, family, financial, and business circumstances. Draft, review, and revise estate planning documents, including wills, revocable and irrevocable trusts, powers of attorney, advance health care directives, and related documents. Counsel clients regarding trust formation, asset protection, wealth transfer, and other estate planning considerations. Conduct client consultations and explain complex legal concepts in a clear, practical, and approachable manner. Independently manage estate planning matters from initial consultation through document preparation, execution, and completion. Review existing estate plans and recommend updates based on changes in client circumstances or applicable law. Assist clients with business formation matters, including entity selection, formation documents, and related legal filings, as appropriate based on experience and firm needs. Assist with trust administration, probate, and related estate matters, including limited conflict or contested matters, as appropriate based on experience and firm needs. Conduct legal research and remain current regarding developments affecting estate planning and related practice areas. Maintain organized and accurate client files, documentation, deadlines, and communications. Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, administrative professionals, financial advisors, CPAs, and other outside professionals as appropriate. Build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships and contribute to the continued growth and reputation of the firm through exceptional client service and professional relationships. Provide responsive, professional, and compassionate service to clients and their families. Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality, ethics, professionalism, and client service. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school. Active and in-good-standing license to practice law in California. Approximately 3-10 years of practicing attorney experience preferred, with 3+ years and meaningful estate planning, trusts administration, and/or probate experience considered ideal. Strong knowledge of estate planning documents, strategies, and applicable laws. Experience with trusts, probate, trust administration, business formation, tax planning, or related areas is highly desirable. Experience handling limited contested or conflict matters is a plus. Strong drafting, legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated ability to independently manage matters, deadlines, client communications, and competing priorities with limited day-to-day supervision. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Sound professional judgment and a high degree of professionalism. Client-focused approach with the ability to build trust and communicate effectively regarding sensitive personal, family, business, and financial matters.
