About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT) Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Must have a minimum of 1 year of inpatient hematology oncology experience. License: Valid state or compact nursing license required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification Must-Have: Experience with Medical-Surgical and Telemetry nursing. Experience with Leukemia/Blood Dyscrasias, Lymphoma/Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma. Description: This position involves caring for patients with acute and chronic blood disorders. The nurse will work in a mixed acuity patient care unit. Responsibilities include administering chemotherapy, managing central lines, and monitoring patient vital signs. The nurse must possess skills in telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias. A strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety is required. Experience with blood product administration and chemotherapy is essential. Candidates should be familiar with using computerized charting systems. This role requires effective communication with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive patient care. A commitment to quality care and ongoing education in oncology nursing is expected. All candidates must meet experience requirements within the last 3 years. The position involves rotations depending on departmental needs.
