Senior Software Engineer

I am representing one of the longest standing and largest HedgeFunds with their search for a Senior Software Engineer to help build and scale my client's Market Data Platform. This role focuses on developing high-performance pipelines to ingest, store, and distribute large volumes of market data, and involves working closely with technology, trading, and research teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment Key Responsibilities Design and build high-throughput, low-latency systems to ingest, store, and distribute market data across the firm. Leverage high-performance time-series databases to process hundreds of millions of daily, real-time pricing records. Design and implement a data lake to store historical market data across multiple asset classes and regions. Build robust pipelines to process market data sets from multiple vendors. Optimize homegrown and vendor platforms by applying core computer science concepts such as concurrency, efficient data structures, memory management, caching, and event-driven programming. Maintain data quality through accurate symbology mapping and entitlements. Develop monitoring and observability to support platform reliability. Technical Skill Requirements Strong in modern back-end programming languages such as C#, Java and/or Python. Strong with one or more SQL or NoSQL databases. Strong understanding of data structures, concurrency, and system design. Experience with any of the following is a plus: Docker, Kubernetes, and/or AWS. KDB+, Snowflake, SQL Server, Apache Iceberg, and/or SingleStore. Apache Spark and/or Arrow Flight. Market data and/or financial systems. This is a temp to perm opportunity.
