Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and process patient specimens according to standardized procedures.
Collect and analyze blood and other bodily fluids and substances.
Perform laboratory testing and evaluate results for accuracy and critical limits.
Operate automated laboratory instruments and computerized equipment safely and effectively.
Perform blood testing and transfusion-related laboratory procedures.
Conduct quality assurance activities to maintain accuracy and reliability of test results.
Document and report laboratory findings according to organizational standards.
Participate in performance improvement initiatives and continuing education.
Maintain reliable attendance and comply with laboratory and organizational standards.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Lab Director.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Medical Laboratory Science.
At least 1 year of experience in an acute-care laboratory setting.
Strong understanding of clinical laboratory procedures and testing.
Ability to safely operate laboratory equipment and computerized systems.
Preferred Qualifications
2+ years of experience in an acute-care laboratory setting.
