If you enjoy building relationships with patients, thinking critically, and working alongside an outstanding group of healthcare professionals, we'd love to hear from you.What You'll DoAs a Pre-Op/PACU RN, you'll play a vital role in helping patients feel safe, informed, and cared for before and after surgery.Pre-Operative ResponsibilitiesComplete patient assessments and nursing documentationVerify allergies, medications, medical history, consents, and surgical siteObtain vital signs, height, weight, blood glucose testing, and pregnancy testing when indicatedStart IVs and administer fluids according to provider ordersProvide pre-operative education and answer patient questionsConduct pre-operative phone calls and chart reviewsCollaborate with surgeons and anesthesia providers to ensure patients are surgery-readyPACU ResponsibilitiesMonitor patients recovering from anesthesiaMaintain airways and monitor vital signsAssess and manage pain, nausea, and comfort needsAssist patients through a safe recovery processApply post-operative equipment such as slings, ice packs, shoes, and other devicesProvide discharge instructions and education to patients and caregiversPerform post-operative follow-up callsTeam & Department ResponsibilitiesAssist with nerve blocks and specialized proceduresMaintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked departmentParticipate in quality improvement initiatives and staff meetingsRespond appropriately to emergency situationsComplete accurate and timely documentationPromote a culture of safety, teamwork, and patient-centered careWhat We're Looking ForRequired QualificationsCurrent Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) licenseCurrent CPR certificationACLS certificationPALS certificationStrong clinical assessment and critical thinking skillsExcellent communication and patient education abilitiesAbility to multitask in a fast-paced surgical environmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand and/or walk for extended periodsAbility to lift and carry 20+ pounds regularlyAbility to push and pull 25+ pounds regularlyWhy You'll Love Working Here Supportive and collaborative team environment Consistent daytime schedule Meaningful patient interactions from start to finish Opportunity to work closely with surgeons and anesthesia providers Fast-paced and rewarding work environment Culture focused on quality, safety, and excellenceThe Ideal CandidateYou are compassionate, detail-oriented, and thrive in a team environment. Apply now! QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSLicensed as Registered Nurse in the State of KansasCurrent CPR certification. ACLS certification.
