PD RN, Cardio Progressive Care Req #: 0000246628 Status: Per Diem Status: Hourly Shift: Day Location: One Robert Wood Johnson Place, New Brunswick, NJ 08901 Location: Main Hospital - New Brunswick Department: Cardio Progressive Care/Telemetry Pay Range: $47.85 - $71.72 per hour Pay Transparency: The above reflects the anticipated hourly wage range for this position if hired to work in New Jersey. The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Registered Nurse for our Cardio Progressive Care Telemetry Unit at the New Brunswick campus. 6 Tower Cardiac Progressive Care Unit is a busy 34 bed cardiac unit. We see a range of telemetry, medical-surgical, and intermediate care patient acuities. Types of patients we care for include post cardiac procedures, sepsis, dialysis, heart failure, and respiratory failure. We specialize in post heart transplantation, LVADs and Heart Failure. All of which we are happy to train you for so no previous experience required. Qualifications Required ASN or Nursing Diploma At least 1 year of Registered Nurse experience Strong communication and organizational skills Proficient computer skills Preferred BSN or must be completed within 5 years upon hire At least 2-3 years of Medical Surgical or Telemetry experience National Board Certification in Specialty Certifications and Licenses Required BLS and ACLS certification Active New Jersey Registered Nurse License Scheduling Requirements Day Shift 1 weekend shift per month, plus one summer and one winter holiday 24 Hours Per Month requirement Per Diem Essential Functions The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards of practice as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The Registered Nurse assures safety in practice and is inclusive of the principles of evidence-based practice by maintaining a realization of own individual level of knowledge and experience and assumes responsibility for advancing knowledge of self and others of the patient care team by communication with and utilizing resource persons and programs available. The Registered Nurse is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors. The Registered Nurse is responsible for knowledge of the patient population served. The Registered Nurse is responsible for supervising and directing the delegation of tasks to appropriate team members and collaborates with other patient care providers. The Registered Nurse is responsible for consistently setting and evaluating priorities through appropriate interventions with measurable outcomes toward improvement. The Registered Nurse is an individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address a specific patient's needs.
