The Company is headquartered in San Diego, California.Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer, the Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in supporting employee lifecycle activities and delivering high-quality HR services across the Company. This position is responsible for talent acquisition coordination, onboarding and offboarding, HR operations, employee relations, compliance, HRIS administration, talent management programs, and employee experience initiatives. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, service-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and partners effectively across functions to enhance operational excellence, compliance, and the employee experience.Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities:Support full-cycle recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate sourcing, interview scheduling, applicant tracking, offer preparation, and background checksPartner with hiring managers to deliver a seamless and positive recruitment experienceAdminister onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientation, employment documentation, system access coordination, employee changes, and separation activitiesMaintain accurate employee lifecycle records, including recruitment, onboarding, personnel files, and HRIS data, ensuring data integrity, confidentiality, and complianceProcess employee lifecycle transactions, including promotions, transfers, compensation changes, leaves of absence, and terminationsAdminister employment verifications, unemployment claims, and other HR operational processesSupport leave administration, workplace investigations, and the interpretation and application of HR policiesPartner with payroll on the entry of employee compensation, status, and organizational changes to support accurate and timely payroll processingAdminister employee benefit enrollments and plan changes, and respond to benefits-related inquiriesCoordinate companywide compliance training, monitor completion status, and maintain accurate training recordsAssist with HR audits, regulatory reporting, compliance initiatives, and documentation requestsSupport talent management programs, including performance management, talent reviews, career development, and related initiativesGenerate HR reports, organizational charts, and workforce data to support business and HR decision-makingIdentify opportunities to improve HR processes and enhance operational efficiency and the employee experienceParticipate in HR initiatives, organizational change efforts, special projects, and continuous improvement activities as assignedPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business Administration required, or a related area degree preferred, with 5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience as a generalist, of experience in the life sciences industry or an equivalent combination of academic and industry experienceStrong knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and HR compliance requirementsDemonstrated experience supporting recruiting, onboarding, offboarding, employee relations, administration, performance management, talent management, and benefitsProficiency with HRIS platforms and systems; experience with applicant tracking, payroll, learning management, and performance management systems preferredDemonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee and business informationStrong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic environmentAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and OutlookProven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a cross-functional, team-oriented environmentExperience supporting organizational change initiatives, process improvements, and HR-related projectsExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindsetPhysical Demands and Work Environment:Physical Demands:Constant or continuous use of a computer keyboard, monitor, and mouse to perform a variety of tasksConstant or frequent sitting, standing, or walkingMay lift and/or move objects of various weightsWork Environment:On-site requirement (Monday through Thursday)Noise level in the work environment is usually moderateFast-paced, time sensitive environment with frequently changing prioritiesHandle multiple projects simultaneouslyReasonable accommodations may be provided to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.Salary Range:The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $113,000 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to, the type and years of experience within the job and the industry, education, and skills and certifications.Benefits:Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and AD&D insurance. Additional benefit programs include short-term and long-term disability insurance, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, and voluntary insurance programs, including voluntary life, AD&D accident, and critical illness. Employees will also be able to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan. In addition, employees will accrue 10 hours of paid vacation time every month and accrue 1 hour of paid sick leave for every 30 hours worked. Employees also enjoy 17 paid holidays each calendar year, including a winter closure, subject to applicable Company policies.
