Our values drive our dedication to providing a world class education.Position: 1st/2nd grade Special Education Teacher- Autistic Support Position type: Full Time Position location (School): First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter SchoolDepartment: Special Education DepartmentReports to: Special education Director Employment status: Exempt Employment duration: 10 months Position Summary: A Special Education Teacher develops and provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities; Progress monitors and assesses student progress against instructional objectives and individualized goals; Holds title of IEP Case Manager to assigned students; and co-teaches with the general education teacher.Major ResponsibilitiesProvides Scientific Research-Based Instruction to students with special needs in a small group setting while using data driven instruction. Provides specialized instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities in the general education classroom by co-teaching with the general education teacher.Progress monitor and assess student progress against instructional objectives and individualized goals.Case manages assigned students and follows State mandated procedures (Producing invitations, procedural safeguards, IEP draft, NoRep, etc.) while holding annual IEP meetings and other meetings if deemed necessary.Communicate with parents and IEP team daily, weekly, and monthly while providing updated reports and comments on student progress.
