Job Description:
The Claim Specialist will be responsible for managing the claims process for clients from start to finish with an exceptional ability to achieve the best possible outcome for Kores internal and external clients. This position requires a professional who will bring a positive attitude and can deliver exceptional service to our clients. Exposure to a wide variety of claims is a plus.Must be a quick learner and able handle significant volume and competing demands. Timeliness and accuracy in managing responsibilities is required, despite competing demands. This position will have a focus on handling diverse lines of business including personal lines claims for high-net worth individuals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the claims process for all assigned responsibilities with a sense of urgency.
- Ability to proactively identify and work through moderate to intermediate coverage issues.
- Complete Desk Reviews/Large Loss Reviews & coordinate and conduct claim reviews.
- Complete Desk Reviews to include detailed facts, liability and damages analysis, and status in connection with renewal process.
- Coordinate and conduct both carrier-led and Kore-led claim reviews.
- Establish and maintain good working relationships with internal and external business partners Maintain proper documentation on all claims and claims diaries in EPIC in accordance with Best Practices.
- Create independent relationships with clients with oversight from Director of Claims.
- Conduct Claim Closure Projects.
- Ad hoc projects to support the Claims Director.
- Performs other related duties as assigned to support departmental and organizational objectives.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 7-10 years experience of relevant claims experience
- Bachelors degree required
- Proficiency in Applied Epic strongly preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) preferred
- Ability to travel occasionally as business needs require
- Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours when necessary to support claim activity and client needs.
- Must be able to handle competing demands and unpredictability.
- Must be able to handle high-pressure situations and keep composure.
- Must be a pleasant individual, that can work well with others in a team environment and understand that their contribution and collaboration is essential to the success of the department.
- Technical proficiency in one or more of the following types of claims: Auto, General Liability, Property and Workers Compensation is preferred.
- Must be staunchly solution oriented.
- Must be tenacious in handling difficult and frustrating situations until resolved in a positive manner.
