General Manager - Communications and Navigation Capabilities Division

Overview The Applied Ops group within Aerospace (the Defense Systems Group) provides analysis‑based decision support to senior leaders on space architectures, policy and strategy, technology development, warfighter capability enablers, systems integration, defense industrial base, and threat reduction. As part of this effort, the CNCD general manager will lead the Communications and Navigation Capabilities Division (CNCD) and deliver technical expertise across MILSATCOM and PNT mission areas to the Space Systems Command (SSC) Program Executive Officer. Location: Los Angeles Air Force Base, El Segundo, CA. The selected candidate must work full‑time on‑site. Responsibilities Lead the division, developing and implementing vision, strategy, and objectives; set expectations, mentor, coach, and build an agile management and technical team. Model aerospace core values and leadership competencies with workforce, customers, and mission partners. Establish trusted relationships with key senior leaders within the customer organization and across SSC, SpOC, and other DoD stakeholder organizations. Drive change and question established practices to influence customers and stakeholders toward resilient integrated architectures that leverage commercial capabilities, international partnerships, and rapid fielding strategies. Position Aerospace to provide high‑value products that help customers solve their most difficult problems. Collaborate with other FFRDCs and UARCs to support customers in meeting mission objectives. Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships between engineering and technology groups and corporate program offices. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in STEM or related discipline. 14+ years of progressively demonstrated management and technical experience in space systems acquisition and program management. Strong business and financial acumen; ability to make time‑critical mission decisions with incomplete data. Proven ability to build high‑performance multidisciplinary teams and develop trusted partnerships with senior government officials and corporate executives. Experience leading enterprise‑level programs, particularly in MILSATCOM and PNT mission areas. Strong executive presence and effective communication skills across diverse audiences. Occasional travel is required. Active Top‑Secret Security Clearance with SCI Access is required; U.S. citizenship is required to obtain a clearance. How You Can Stand Out Advanced graduate technical and/or business degree. Enterprise‑level perspective with prior Program Office and ETG experience. Experience in MILSATCOM and PNT mission areas. Experience in space operations. Experience integrating commercial capabilities for military use. Demonstrated ability to manage a large portfolio across multiple mission domains.
