You will be working in a production environment where all jobs have a measured standard production rate, and you will be held accountable for the quality of your work. Duration of set-ups varies from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours. Once set-up, a job will run from 30 minutes to 5 hours. This role is also eligible for SCs annual incentive bonus, subject to eligibility criteria./ppJoin Our Team as a Machinist!/ppThe Machinist Basic is responsible for operating a variety of machines, including both CNC and manually-controlled equipment, to produce precision parts for SC products. The Machinist interprets blueprints to determine part specifications and uses various machines to craft them. They also complete basic documentation and maintenance tasks to ensure processes run smoothly and move materials when needed./ppKey Responsibilities/pulliOperate various manual and CNC machines to fabricate parts according to standard specifications./liliSet up machines with the appropriate materials needed to complete the job./liliInterpret blueprints, drawings, and other technical specifications to understand the requirements for basic parts and ensure accurate fabrication./liliPerform basic routine maintenance on machines and tools to ensure longevity and quality fabrication, including cleaning and reporting mechanical/electrical issues to department leaders./liliUtilize an overhead crane and other material handling equipment to safely position materials for machining./liliComplete the first-piece inspection of parts using various measurement tools, confirming that the pieces are the correct material, quality, and specifications before beginning the machining process./liliMaintain accurate records of fabrication activities, including tracking the progress of job orders and documenting corrective action needed for the machine, part, or process./liliDeburr metal parts using hand and/or power tools, ensuring materials are safe to handle and are in a state thats ready for further processing./liliMeet department targets and consistently adhere to quality and safety standards./liliUnderstand and comply with all applicable Company policies and rules./li/ulpWhat youll Need To Succeed:/pulliHigh School diploma/GED/liliJob Requirements (To select this job at a minimum you must have the following):/lili1+ year of demonstrated experience with the operation of manual and computer-controlled machinery./liliAbility to use hand tools and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and height gages./liliKnowledge of machine controls and programs./liliAbility to read blueprints/liliAbility to work independently and meet requirements of assigned materials requests./liliGood communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to articulate information efficiently and effectively to team members in a variety of production support departments./liliBasic computer skills with the ability to review and respond to requests via internal applications./liliBasic math skills with the ability to calculate quantities, weights, and measurements./liliGood interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to understand and complete requests given by team member inside and outside of the department.
