Candidates may travel to various sites and work 8-hour shifts between 6:30am-5:30pm, with 5-hour shifts every two weeks on Saturdays from 7am-1pmRequires a clean driving record and reliable transportationMileage expenses paidPotential locations that you will be floating to:Castleton, NYDelmar, NYCatskill, NYSchenectady, NYCobleskill, NYLatham, NYAmsterdam, NYValatie, NYAlbany, NYGuilderland, NYSummaryThe primary role of a phlebotomist is to assist with various assigned tasks, troubleshoot, provide training, and make recommendations for workflow improvements.Position ResponsibilitiesExperience with blood draws, specimen labeling, sample centrifugation, recording maintenance data, patient information updates, etc.Collects and stores specimens following established proceduresExplains venipuncture and other specimen collection processes in a clear and courteous mannerDemonstrates proper techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles, matches requisition forms to specimen tubes, labels, centrifuges, splits, and freezes specimensChecks test requisitions against script, packages specimens for transport and stores them correctlyAdheres to OSHA and DEP regulations, attends department trainings, answers calls and reads lab results to address inquiriesMinimum QualificationsValid Phlebotomy certification as required by the state of employmentMinimum of 6 months’ experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital settingProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteHigh School Diploma or GED
