Job Title: CORE/WAN Network LeadJob Category: Information TechnologyTime Type: Full timeMinimum Clearance Required to Start: TS/SCIEmployee Type: RegularPercentage of Travel Required: Up to 10%Type of Travel: Local* * *The Opportunity: Team CACI has an exciting and challenging opportunity available for a CORE/WAN Network Lead supporting an Intelligence Community customer’s CORE/wide-area (WAN), networks across multiple security domains.This position encompasses the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex, global enterprise networks.The Senior Network Engineer will act as a key technical leader, driving the evolution of our network infrastructure to meet evolving business needs. As a leader in our networking team, you will be responsible for guiding and developing our workforce, spearheading problem-solving efforts for critical network issues, fostering collaboration among team members, and driving continuous improvement through staying current with industry innovations.This role will involve mentoring junior engineers, making strategic decisions during network incidents, and ensuring our team remains at the forefront of networking technology advancements. This includes not only maintaining network stability and performance but also proactively engineering solutions to address new customer requirements and emerging technologies. This role demands a strong foundation in networking principles, extensive experience with routing protocols (including BGP), hands-on expertise with cloud networking platforms, and a proven ability to translate business needs into robust network solutions.Responsibilities:Manage on-site staff, providing guidance, support, and conducting performance evaluations.Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and safety standards.Focus will be on Network EngineeringCoordination of system maintenance, monitoring and installation of multiple WAN environments encompassing multiple specializations, platforms and technologiesProvide problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution for network issues.Escalate and communicate status to management and customers.Evaluate and monitor health and performance of the network including hardware and management software.Develop and maintain a road map for capabilities, operations, and technologies.Assist with development and execution of test plans and supporting documentation of all network configuration upgrades, additions or revisions for customer approval before implementation.Support network traffic analysis and bandwidth optimization efforts to ensure attainment of performance and availability objectives.Evaluate and report on new/emerging network/communication technologies to enhance capacity, performance and reliability of the network.Evaluate and recommend changes and/or technology upgrades to address performance, standardization and industry best practicesFollows all Customer network security processes and procedures, ensures compliance with all Government policies.Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and infrastructure problems.Maintain and configure network components to improve reliability and performance.Conduct site surveys, planning, and design support.Collaborate with the team across departments and locationsCollaborative across external service providers and customer to resolve incidents and problems.Work independently and as part of integrated teams.Apply advanced concepts and processes to daily activities.Maintain thorough knowledge of network and security systems.Act as technical interface with vendors and external stakeholders.Review and provide recommendations to technical documentation.Maintain outside plant cabling and manholes.Install and configure WAN hardware, including voice, video, and data systems.Support the development of system specifications, architecture designs, and integration plans.Implement risk management and quality assurance strategies.Support deployable networks for multiple mission partners.Travel to CONUS sites for deployments, installations, and maintenance.Develop and maintain customer's deployable communications suites.Qualifications:Required:Security Clearance: active TS/SCI with Poly10+ years related technical experience in Network and Transport technologies, tools, and techniquesUnderstanding and experience with the DoD Architecture Framework and other key DoD network architecture and strategic planning instructionsExperience with CISCO and Juniper, switches, routers, Cryptographic devises, VPN and VPN client.Experience with Network analysis tools (CISCO Network Analysis Modules, Solar Winds Network Management, OPNET NetOne, HP Network Node Manager, etc.)Experience with CISCO firewall/VPN equipment (Adaptive Security Appliance, etc)Experience with supporting IP services to connect to NIPRNET, SIPRNET and JWICS (IPv4, VPN, IPv6, Multicast, QOS, SDN, SNMP, VOIP, VTC, etc)Experience with EIGRP, OSPF, BGP and multicast.These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:Master’s degree in Computer Science or related fieldCISCO CCNP, CCVP, CCNA or CCDP (or equivalent)ITIL v3 FoundationsISC2 CISSPCompTIA Security +Desired:Have experience and working knowledge with 802.11 (wireless technologies), specifically 802.11ac and 802.11ax.Experience working with Cisco/ Meraki/ Juniper/Aruba wireless and associated technologies and management platforms.Knowledge and hands-on experience of WLAN design and benchmarking software-What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
