Manufacturing Technician

Our Products and Services Computer Generated Holograms (CGHs) enabling interferometric testing of optical surfaces – aspheres, freeforms, cylinders, conic sections, and many other complex surface shapes and optical systems Mechanics for precise positioning and alignment of CGHs and test optics Development of complete optical test setups for the fast-growing commercial space telescope industry, consumer electronics customers, the semiconductor lithography industry, and many other applications. Essential Functions Basic machining of mechanical and opto-mechanical components Assembling/bonding of mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies Interfacing with mechanical engineers on preliminary and final designs Assembling and testing mechanical system prototypes Developing, documenting, and updating manufacturing instructions Qualifications The successful candidate will possess these skills and qualifications: Required Basic machining/modifying hardware skills Mastery with measuring hardware (verniers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge pins and blocks, etc.…) Reading and working to drawing specs Bonding and assembling hardware Works well within an interdisciplinary team Desire to work in a hands‑on environment with an understanding of basic shop and lab tools Good verbal and written communication skills Detail oriented and organized US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (green card) required Experience working in Solidworks Drawing checking Basic knowledge of optical metrology techniques such as interferometry Why AOM?
