Position Overview

This is a client-facing, estate planning and probate-focused role. You will guide clients through their entire estate planning representation — from initial consultation through document execution — working closely with our team to deliver a smooth, reassuring experience at every step.

We are seeking candidates based in the Washington, DC metropolitan area (Northern Virginia, DC, or Maryland). We are not currently considering candidates who would need to relocate.

Responsibilities

• Conduct client consultations and design meetings

• Prepare estate planning documents in collaboration with the Speedwell Law team

• Facilitate the execution of estate plans

• Maintain a warm, client-centered environment consistent with our Core Values

Required Qualifications

• Virginia Bar admission (currently admitted, or pending results from a recent exam sitting)
• DC or Maryland Bar considered for candidates who are willing and able to become Virginia-licensed
• Demonstrated interest in estate planning — through coursework, clinical work, a clerkship, a practice area rotation, prior employment, or personal motivation you can speak to. Formal estate planning experience is not required, but intellectual curiosity about the field is.
• DC Metro area — you live or are already based in Northern Virginia, DC, or Maryland
• Strong proficiency with Word, Excel, and Adobe PDF
• High attention to detail; ability to review documents for errors
• Excellent communication skills; ability to make complex ideas sound simple
• Warmth, friendliness, and genuine client empathy

Salary Expectations

Compensation is negotiable and begins with a competitive base salary. Increases follow a clearly defined structure tied to specific performance metrics. Top performers can expect compensation comparable to large-firm earnings within three years — without the lifestyle trade-offs of Big Law.

Academic Benchmarks

• College GPA 3.3 or above
