Responsibilities What We’re Looking For: If you enjoy learning about and working with breakthrough technologies, and are enthusiastic about working in the space industry, then you will be excited about the SoftwareEngineerIIopening with Iridium for a Space Development Agency (SDA) project.As theGroundSoftwareEngineerwithin the Ground Systems Development team, youwill gain experience in software development and maintenance for themissionsoftware and supporting applications, whileutilizinga working knowledge of mission planning, data routing,and management.Additionally, theGroundSoftwareEngineerwillworkautonomouslytodeliver high-quality work and drive projects/deliverables to completionwithin the larger development team to support cross-functional efforts across all areas of ground system software development. What You’ll Do: Workcollaboratively with your teamtodevelop and enhancesoftware related tothe SDA project Assistin developingoptimized code for both scalability and performance Work within the Agile/Scrum framework forsoftwaredevelopment Play a role in creatingand/ormaintainingbuild environments forsoftwareproducts Work within teamobjectivestoassistinplanningand executingsoftware releases per stakeholder/program schedules and budgets Update issue/feature data in Atlassian Project/Software tracking tools Follow existing Iridium processes for Change Control, Prioritization, Risk Management,Commercial off the Shelf (COTS)Management, Build,and Test software deployments and use knowledge toassistin development of process/procedure documentation materials Edit, structure,and present data, concepts,and arguments clearly and succinctly, through briefings and documentation Respond to questions within scope from stakeholders Qualifications What You’ll Need to Succeed: Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, orotherengineering discipline 2+years’ software programmingand/orsoftwaresupportexperience Proficiencyin one or more programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python, Java, or similar) Coding experience on Agile based teams Strong communicationskills, with the ability to clearly present information and ideas to others Have confidence and be able to easily buildmeaningful relationships with your manager and members of your team Must be able to prioritize your tasks, be self-aware enough toidentifyand correct mistakes, and not be afraid to ask for help when needed Be active in seeking out ways to improve yourself and gain new knowledge, and be enthusiastic in sharing knowledge with others Things That Would beGreatif You Brought to the Table: Experience with the following technologies: XML / JSON / SQL No SQL based DBs (e.g., Mongo) Atlassian management/software development tools: Jira / Git / Bitbucket / Crucible / Confluence and/or Gitlab Micro services architectures AWS cloud environments We’ll also need you to: Work in the office at least 3 or more days a week to foster collaboration with the team and stakeholders Be a U.S.Citizen Be able to obtain andmaintaina U.S. Government security clearance #J-18808-Ljbffr
