Job Description:
As a Sr. Business Analyst , you will play a key role in a large-scale application modernization initiative by gathering requirements, analyzing business processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and supporting testing activities. The ideal candidate will work closely with business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure existing functionality is effectively modernized while delivering enhanced business value through process and system improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Gather, analyze, and document current and future-state business requirements.

• Validate and document existing application functionality to support modernization efforts.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify process improvements and recommend system enhancements.

• Translate business requirements into detailed user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Assist in evaluating technical approaches, integrations, and solution designs.

• Work closely with product, development, and data teams to ensure requirements are clearly understood.

• Support testing activities, including validation of functionality and business requirements.

• Ensure solutions align with security, accessibility, privacy, and compliance standards.

• Identify project risks, dependencies, and potential impediments and recommend mitigation strategies.

• Provide status updates, business recommendations, and stakeholder communications throughout the project lifecycle.

Required Skills, Experiences, Education, and Competencies:

• Extensive experience as a Business Analyst supporting complex application development or modernization projects.

• Strong expertise in requirements gathering, business process analysis, and documentation.

• Proven experience creating user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and functional specifications.

• Strong background in business process improvement and identifying opportunities for operational efficiency.

• Experience collaborating with business stakeholders, product managers, developers, architects, and QA teams.

• Hands-on experience supporting software testing, validation, and user acceptance testing activities.

• Knowledge of Agile methodologies, SDLC processes, and product delivery frameworks.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail.

• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

• Experience supporting highly regulated, public-sector, utilities, or enterprise-scale systems is preferred.

The hourly range for roles of this nature are $45.00 to $80.00/hr. Rates are heavily dependent on skills, experience, location, and industry.
