Custodian (Multiple positions) Custodian assigned to provide general cleaning and custodial care for campus buildings and adjacent areas including offices, classrooms, laboratories, auditoriums, gymnasiums, locker rooms, showers, restrooms, student residences, walkways, and workshops. Major Duties Work assignments include cleaning and maintaining assigned areas: dusting all surfaces; removing trash and recyclables; cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and replenishing supplies; cleaning glass doors, windows, blinds; removing gum and graffiti; cleaning furniture and upholstery; cleaning light fixtures and HVAC air diffusers; polishing woodwork and metal surfaces; cleaning interior and exterior stairwells, walkways, and elevators. Cleans and maintains campus floors, including sweeping, dry and/or wet mopping; stripping, sealing, waxing, and polishing floors; vacuuming; spot and full cleaning of carpets; responding to custodial emergencies; gathering and delivering trash and recyclables to central aggregation areas. Safeguards assigned areas from unauthorized use by locking and unlocking doors and windows; arranging and setting up furniture, equipment, and related items; identifying and organizing necessary work materials and equipment; operating and maintaining powered equipment, tools, supplies, and materials needed. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Basic knowledge of methods, materials, and equipment used in custodial work; familiarity with cleaning solutions and chemicals and proper usage for safety. Ability to read and write at a level appropriate for the duties; follow verbal and written instructions to ensure safety; operate and care for custodial equipment and supplies. Use custodial systems such as those used to track work orders and two-way radios for communication; observe safety requirements and safe work practices and methods; perform work involving regular physical activity; establish and maintain cooperative work relationships. Anticipated hiring rate $3680; salary range $3680 - $4951 per month. Hours: Full time 40 hours per week; 4:00 pm – 12:30 am, Monday through Friday.
