The role Our Union Street flagship is our first physical store location, so this is a pivotal role reporting directly to Executive Leadership. We’re looking for a Store Manager who will take ownership of the business, develop the team, and help shape how we operate as we grow. This is a hands‑on leadership role: expect to spend about 70% of your time on the floor selling, serving customers, and coaching the team, with the remaining 30% focused on planning, business analysis, and administration. This is a unique opportunity to oversee a team responsible for retail, production, and fulfillment with the partnership of the Jewelry Production Manager. As the business grows, there is opportunity to grow your contribution, responsibility and career with it. What you’ll own Sales and customer experience. Exceed the store’s sales plan through active selling, floor leadership, and consistent coaching. Use the retail sales equation to identify opportunities, set focused goals, and connect daily selling behaviors to measurable results. Create a warm, inclusive experience that builds customer loyalty. Team performance. Hire, onboard, coach, and develop a capable team. Set clear expectations, give useful feedback, address performance gaps, and apply policies consistently. Lead by example and build a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous learning. Staffing and controllable costs. Plan staffing around customer demand, floor coverage, breaks, and production needs while managing the labor budget. Use P&L visibility to understand performance and control the expenses within your scope, including supply orders, shrink, and production waste. Store operations. Own consistent daily execution, store presentation, BOH organization, inventory accuracy, and timely order fulfillment. Maintain a clean, organized, safe store and uphold loss prevention practices. Exercise attention to detail and critical thinking skills to increase efficiency. Jewelry production and quality. Learn and perform jewelry assembly, customization, and engraving alongside the team. Coordinate staffing and workflow with the Jewelry Production Manager so customer service and production needs are met. Build the knowledge to coach execution, verify quality, reduce errors and minimize wasted materials. Training is provided. Business improvement and leadership partnership. Bring Executive Leadership clear updates, customer insights, and recommendations grounded in observation and results. Explain your reasoning, raise concerns constructively, and follow through on decisions. Help develop and test company tools, evaluate what works, and put improvements into daily practice. What you bring Retail leadership with demonstrated success driving sales, developing people, and owning store performance. Your combination of experience and education reflects a pattern of growth and increasing responsibility. Strong critical reasoning and business judgment. You understand how staffing, selling behaviors, customer experience, and operational decisions affect results, and can explain the reasoning behind your choices. You show consistent care for product quality, customization accuracy, inventory, and the brand experience. Comfortable using Google Workspace or MS Office, with proficiency in Google Sheets or Excel. Shopify experience is a plus. Prior jewelry production experience is not required. Availability and practical requirements Full‑time, on‑site at our Union Street flagship in San Francisco. Availability is required Friday through Sunday and at least two additional weekdays, including evenings and holidays. Open availability is preferred. The role involves standing and moving throughout the store, regularly going up and down stairs between the sales floor and upstairs studio, and detailed handwork using jewelry tools and small components. You must be able to accurately inspect and work with small jewelry components, distinguish fine differences in chain styles and gemstone colors, and verify assembly and engraving quality, with or without reasonable accommodation.
