Billing Specialist

To support the billing operations of a healthcare organization, the full-time remote Billing Specialist will manage daily billing tasks, ensure timely and accurate claims submissions, and maintain compliance with insurance billing policies and regulations. Key responsibilities: Prepare and submit accurate claims for patient services while ensuring compliance with third-party payer guidelines Review and reconcile patient accounts, addressing outstanding balances and resolving billing discrepancies Maintain accurate records of all claims and collaborate with internal departments to address issues affecting patient accounts Required qualifications: 3-5 years of experience as a primary biller in a hospital business office In-depth knowledge of billing codes, guidelines, and regulations, including ICD-10, CPT, and DRG Experience utilizing payer portals and familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in medical billing is a plus Experience with TruBridge and SSI is preferred
