Key Responsibilities: Verify and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement AR follow up Working rejected, denied and non-covered claims Completing appeals Completing large insurance payer projects Working with Insurance Provider Representatives to initiate and complete all major insurance projects Analyze large groups of claims by insurance payer to identify trends and develop solutions for future submissions Review and analyze medical records and patient information to ensure accurate coding and billing Verify appropriate coding has been utilized including ICD-10, ICD-9, HCPCS, and CPT coding Communicate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients regarding billing inquiries or disputes Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and skills: Medical billing experience Strong problem solving and analytical skills Ability to work as part of a team and to adapt to a fast-changing environment Must have attention to detail with an eye for accuracy Proficiency in Excel Professional communication skills Excellent Time Management Skills Self-motivated with a sense of urgency and ability to prioritize critical tasks Insurance and Patient Payment Posting Experience EHR and PM Experience (Preferably Modmed) Summary As a Medical Billing Assistant, you will be integral to the financial operations of our healthcare facility, ensuring accurate billing and collections.Your core skills in medical terminology, EHR systems, and medical coding will be essential in processing claims and managing patient accounts.Your premium skills in ICD-10 and CPT coding will enhance your ability to analyze billing discrepancies and facilitate effective communication with insurance providers.
