The Division of Neonatology in the Department of Pediatrics at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking an exemplary leader to serve as Division Head. This position offers the opportunity to provide strategic leadership during a pivotal period of growth and transformation. The Division Head will set and execute the division's strategic vision while overseeing all clinical care, research endeavors, educational efforts, advocacy, and administrative operations.

The Division of Neonatology is nationally recognized for its excellence with our team providing the highest level of care to critically ill and premature infants in the region at our 64-bed level IV NICU at Lurie Children's Hospital and an adjacent 84-bed level III NICU at Northwestern Medicine Prentice Women's Hospital the largest birthing center in the region with 12,000 births per year. The division is home to several cutting-edge clinical programs, offers a top-tier neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship and is a national leader in neonatal research and collaboration. The division partners closely with the Regenstein Cardiac Care Unit and Chicago Institute for Fetal Health, both state-of-the-art centers within Lurie Children's Hospital.

The successful candidate will be a strategic, thoughtful leader with robust experience in an academic medical center setting. Candidates should have an interest in faculty and fellow mentorship, as it is a key responsibility in supporting career growth and development. This individual will act as the representative in interactions with Department leadership, Lurie Children's Medical Group leadership, hospital administration, external groups and philanthropic donors. The individual in this role is responsible for oversight of divisional operational, philanthropic, and grant funding in partnership with the Executive Director and Division Administrator.

The new Division Head should have demonstrated leadership in clinical care, research development, education, and/or administration, strong clinical expertise and proven track record of scholarly activity within neonatology, strategic, thoughtful leadership approach with robust experience in academic medical center settings and a demonstrated commitment to faculty mentorship and career development. The candidate should be a MD or DO, or MD/PhD, with board-certification in Pediatrics and Neonatology-Perinatal Medicine, a minimum 57 years of post-fellowship clinical experience in neonatology and medical licensure in Illinois (or ability to obtain). The start date is negotiable, and the position will remain open until it is filled. The expected base pay range for this position is $368,000 to $493,000.
