Industrial Equipment Mechanic

Job Title

Job duties will include but may not be limited to the following:

• Overhauls, repairs, and performs preventative maintenance on all VA owned vehicles and equipment.
• Installs, maintains and repairs non-production industrial plant machinery, equipment and systems.
• Interprets and applies the requirements of technical manuals, shop directives, multi-view blueprints and other documents to determine critical dimensions and key reference points.
• Determines the nature and extent of repairs.
• Performs repairs, to include replacing, reworking, or refinishing worn or damaged parts and components.
• Performs operational checks and makes necessary adjustments.
• Ensures safe and efficient operation of equipment.
• Works on machinery, equipment and systems that have complex interrelationships among components.
• Performs preventive maintenance services and conducts periodic preventive and recurring inspections.
• Maintains operational logs, preventative maintenance logs, repair logs and parts inventory records.
• Follows safe work practices and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Uses multiple office automation functions, storing and retrieving electronic documents and files, activating printers, inserting and deleting texts, formatting letters and reports, and transmitting and receiving electronic mail.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm
