Graham Building 1350 Northwest 12 th Avenue Miami, FL 33136 Position Overview The Career Criminal Robbery Legal Assistant III in the Felony Divisions provides secretarial and trial support for two (2) trial active prosecutors, with emphasis on police officer and expert witness coordination for career criminal cases. The work schedule for this position is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. with flexibility when prepping for trial, during actual trial, or important hearings. The Job Responsibilities are: Preparing trial availabilities Providing coverage preparing daily court calendar, supplemental and alias capias calendars Providing coverage processing court calendar returns Preparing subpoenas, motions and orders Maintaining and logging all Certified Documents Maintaining Databases Ordering photos, body-worn cam videos, police reports and other supporting documentation from additional agencies Scanning files/documents per our paperless policy Uploading all media to Axon/Evidence.com Completing requests for assigned prosecutors Conducting extensive phone work and having contact with partnering agencies, expert witnesses and law enforcement personnel Coordinating travel arrangements for assigned prosecutors, expert witnesses and retired police officers Providing back-up support to other unit prosecutors Distributing and organizing incoming/outgoing mail Assisting with ongoing training of new staff Performing other related duties as assigned The Minimum Requirements are: Two (2) years clerical experience, one (1) year of which must be a legal assistant Must be able to lift boxes weighing 25 pounds The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are: Being fluent in English and Spanish Specific Skills and Characteristics The Successful Candidate must be able to: Possess and demonstrate significant knowledge of computer programs Possess and demonstrate very good verbal and written communication skills Possess and demonstrate excellent organizational skills Possess and demonstrate the ability to multitask Work effectively under pressure Work effectively with all levels of staff and outside agencies Work in a group/team environment Be adaptable to change Be personable and positive, demonstrating compassion and providing excellent customer service to all levels of staff and the public Note: Please be advised the starting salary for this position is non-negotiable Insurance benefits, vacation package and Florida Retirement System Pension benefits are offered with this position Internal and External Candidates will be considered Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer #J-18808-Ljbffr The Office of Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle
