Job Description
Job Title: CT/X-Ray Technologist
Profession: Radiology

Experience: Minimum experience required.
License: NYSDOH Licensure
Certifications: ARRT, BLS AHA


Must-Have: High School Diploma or equivalent required.


Description:
Maintain and exhibit behavior that promotes patient confidence and trust.
Capable of working independently and unsupervised.
Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of Cat Scan Imaging Exams.
Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of pediatric immobilization devices adhering to safety precautions.
Prepare or enter written documentation as required by the department, such as informed patient consent and patient chart documentation.
Observe sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary.
Check equipment, supplies, and accessories on a regular basis.
Assess the physical needs of the adult and geriatric patients.
Demonstrate the ability to recognize and alleviate patients' fears and apprehensions about exams.
Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas.
Complete requested examinations in a timely manner, while observing radiation safety standards.
Address the special needs of each age group served and assist in making reasonable accommodations for patients with different needs.
Observe bio-safety and radiation safety rules and regulations.
Responsibilities and duties may be added, changed, or deleted at any time at the discretion of the management.
Perform related duties in PACS as required.
Responsible for knowing and adhering to established policies and procedures, including all aspects of safety.
Must be computer literate.
Able to select and operate equipment as directed.
Awareness and ability to prevent Sentinel Events.
Demonstrate proficiency in the performance of all diagnostic and fluoroscopic examinations and equipment.
Perform portable and operating room examinations in a timely and professional manner while observing sterile and aseptic techniques when necessary.
Demonstrate professionalism and a patient-first approach in all interactions.
