Job Title: RN MedSurg/Oncology Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical-Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 - 19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active RN License Certifications: Required certifications are active RN license; temporary license will not be accepted Must-Have: BLS Post-Surgical care 2+ years of hospital experience Description: This position is for a travel RN specializing in Med-Surg and Oncology. The unit involves general medical-surgical care as well as oncology services. The typical number of beds on the unit is 31. Staffing consists of various roles including charge nurses, RNs, CNAs, and sitters. The patient ratios are 1:5 to 1:6. The equipment used is standard for medical-surgical units, with some traction devices. The electronic medical record system used on the unit is Meditech. Preferred skills include ACLS, Oncology certification, and chemotherapy experience. Typical procedures on the unit include chemotherapy administration, neutropenia precautions, post-operative care, CBI, and hospice care. The ideal personality fit is someone who is adaptable and works well in a team. Dress code requires scrubs in a specific color and prohibits artificial nails. Hair must be neat and clean, and body art should be covered when possible. Visible piercings, aside from ears, are not permitted. Floating may occur to other medical-surgical areas. Attendance policies will align with company standards. Weekends and on-call requirements are not applicable for this position.
