About the Role

The Company is in search of a Chief Credit Officer (CCO) to join its Executive Leadership Team. The CCO will be a key player in shaping the enterprise-wide credit strategy, with a focus on responsible growth, strong asset quality, and relationship-driven banking. This senior executive will be responsible for all aspects of credit risk management, portfolio administration, asset quality, and underwriting across both commercial and retail lending. The role involves leading the credit functions, overseeing portfolio quality and trends, developing and maintaining credit policies, and ensuring regulatory compliance. The successful candidate will also be tasked with problem loan management, presenting credit assessments to the Board, and partnering with commercial lending leadership to support growth within the Bank's risk appetite. Applicants for the CCO position at the company should have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, at least 10 years' of experience in commercial credit and lending, and a proven track record of leadership in managing credit teams and portfolio risk. Strong communication and executive presentation skills are essential, as is a deep understanding of regulatory expectations and best practices in underwriting and portfolio management. While not mandatory, a background as a Chief Credit Officer, Senior Credit Officer, or equivalent executive-level credit leader is preferred, along with advanced banking education such as an MBA or Graduate School of Banking. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned credit executive looking to make a significant impact within a growing community banking organization.
