Full-Time Sports Physical Therapist Athletic Edge Physical Therapy | San Diego, CA Treat fewer patients. Spend more time actually being a physical therapist. If you became a physical therapist because you love movement, problem-solving, and helping active people get back to doing what they love, you should have the time and resources to do that well. At Athletic Edge Physical Therapy, you won't be expected to juggle multiple patients at once or spend your day moving from one treatment table to the next. Our physical therapists treat one patient at a time for a full hour, with no double booking and a maximum of 6–8 patients per day. We're looking for a full-time Physical Therapist who is passionate about sports rehabilitation, orthopedic care, strength and conditioning, and helping active people return to the activities and sports that matter to them. What Your Day Looks Like You'll work in a sports performance and gym-based environment where rehabilitation goes beyond the treatment table. You'll have the time and space to assess movement, load patients appropriately, build strength, develop power, introduce plyometrics, and progress patients all the way from injury through return to sport and performance. Your caseload will include active adults and athletes with a variety of orthopedic and sports-related conditions. Most importantly, you'll have the time to think critically and provide individualized care. No double booking. No bouncing between patients. No 15–20 patient days. What You'll Get at Athletic Edge True 1:1 patient care Every patient receives your full attention for their treatment session. 6–8 patients maximum per day We intentionally keep caseloads manageable so you can provide high-quality care without burning out. A gym-based treatment environment You'll have the space and equipment to bridge the gap between traditional rehabilitation, strength and conditioning, and return to sport. Weekly mentorship and clinical development You'll receive dedicated mentorship focused on clinical reasoning, manual therapy, exercise prescription, programming, return-to-sport progression, and developing your skill set as a sports physical therapist. Opportunities to continue growing We want our clinicians to develop areas of expertise and become better practitioners throughout their careers, not simply maintain a caseload. Connection to the active San Diego community You'll have opportunities to participate in community events, workshops, athlete education, local partnerships, and other outreach that connects our clinic with the people we serve. Who We're Looking For We're looking for a PT who: Holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and is licensed or eligible for licensure in California Has a strong interest in sports and orthopedic physical therapy Enjoys working with active adults and athletes Values strength training and exercise-based rehabilitation Wants to continue developing their clinical skills Is comfortable working collaboratively and receiving feedback Enjoys being part of a team and contributing to clinic culture Is interested in building relationships within the local fitness and sports community Wants to treat the whole athlete, not just the diagnosis Experience in sports rehabilitation, manual therapy, strength and conditioning, return-to-sport testing, or cash-based physical therapy is a plus, but we're also interested in clinicians with a strong foundation and a genuine desire to learn.
