Veritas Suite (including Volume Manager and Clustering) Korn Shell Scripting EMC SAN technologies (RDF, DMX, Symmetric Unix Command set) Key Accountabilities Identifies and troubleshoots problems. Responds to inquiries in development, testing, and production environments, including file servers, application servers, and database servers. Ensures availability and integrity of servers and services with techniques such as performance tuning and system monitoring. Manages all upgrades and backups. Identifies opportunities within current environment for simplification/automation of tasks and devises and recommends solutions. Designs, develops and documents custom scripts and tools to simplify and automate tasks. Identifies when Upgrades software upgrades and patches software are needed to ensure servers are capable of meeting increased demand; determines, recommends and implements best solution. Also Identifies latest vulnerabilities and determines and implements appropriate patch for server software. 24/7 on call support - handling complex technical issues. Reviews capacity planning and performance monitoring of the server application and hardware; makes recommendations for changes/enhancements needed to ensure performance levels meet expectations. Researches and evaluates new technologies. Make recommendations for changes enhancements based on research, including developing design/technical proposals. Research new technologies and present recommendations and justifications on major hardware and software purchases.
