Job description

We're a busy and fast growing automotive service center with lots of opportunity for growth. Family owned and operated 8 bay facility.

Seeking a Service Writer with experience. Unfortunately we do not have time to train anyone from scratch at this time. We need an advisor with bare minimum of 3 years experience in a shop. Preferably an independent shop.

Duties:

- Greet customers and provide excellent customer service
- Listen to customer concerns and accurately document vehicle issues
- Generate repair orders and provide detailed explanations of recommended services
- Communicate with technicians to ensure timely completion of repairs
- Provide estimates for automotive services and obtain customer approval
- Coordinate with parts department to ensure necessary parts are ordered and available for repairs
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and transactions
- Process payments and handle cash transactions

Skills required for this job :

- Automotive service knowledge, including understanding of vehicle maintenance and repair processes 

- Need to have a basic understanding of the anatomy of automobiles and how they work

- Must be able to operate a computer and type efficiently

- Strong and effective communication skills, both verbal and written

- Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to build rapport with customers

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively

- Proficient in computer systems and software used for generating repair orders and invoices

- Cash handling experience is preferred

Pay: $70,000 - $100,000 per year , varies based on skill level experience and efficiency 

Expected hours: 45-50 hours per week

Experience:

• Service writing: 3 years (Required)
• Management skills not required but certainly a plus
