We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy team in Farmington Hills, MI. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to provide accurate medication preparation, efficient prescription processing, and excellent customer care to our local community.

Responsibilities

• Order Processing & Dispensing: Accurately retrieve, count, pour, package, and label prescription medications while performing precision math calculations and verifying patient details in compliance with Michigan board regulations.
• Patient & Customer Service: Assist patients at the counter and over the phone with prescription drop-offs, pickups, co-pay inquiries, and third-party insurance adjudication, resolving claim rejections when necessary.
• Inventory Management: Receive, unpack, and log incoming pharmaceutical shipments, routinely check for expired stock, and maintain proper storage conditions for ambient and refrigerated medications.
• Pharmacy Operations Maintenance: Assist the lead pharmacist in maintaining automated dispensing systems, sanitizing work areas, and upholding strict compliance with HIPAA and state privacy laws.

Qualifications

• Licensure & Certification: Active, unrestricted Michigan Pharmacy Technician License issued by LARA (Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs) and national certification (PTCB CPhT or ExCPT).
• Education & Mandates: High school diploma or GED equivalent, alongside proof of completed state-mandated Implicit Bias and Human Trafficking awareness training.
• Technical Skills: Strong mathematical aptitude for dosage calculations, proficiency with pharmacy management software (e.g., PioneerRx, Enterprise, or Epic), and familiarity with medical terminology.
• Communication & Professionalism: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a proven track record of maintaining patience, accuracy, and confidentiality in a high-volume healthcare environment.
