DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION:

Detroit Northwest Lahser Dialysis is a 24-station unit operating three shifts, six days a week handling complex patients from ages 20-90 years old. Many require assistance with mobility devices. Operating hours for patients are 5:00 am - 8:00 pm and team members are scheduled 4:30 am to 8:30 pm. Employee schedules are made through several shift designs. Patients are medically managed by several Nephrologist and Advanced Practice practitioners (APP) We have Registered Dietitians and Social Workers to address the concrete patient needs such as transportation or dietary needs. Unit staffing includes a Nurse Manager as well as many Registered Nurses and Dialysis Clinical Technicians. We have additional support staff of Biomed Techs and Dialysis Assistants overseen by a technical leader.

Educate and empower patients and families by sharing knowledge about dialysis procedures, dietary tips, and self-care strategies that help them thrive. Keep meticulous records by documenting treatment activities and patient progress with accuracy and attention to detail—your documentation helps drive better outcomes! EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
